• Summer Dance is a great opportunity for children to try a new form of dance or focus on becoming a more technical dancer.  Summer Dance is typically offered during the month of June.  Young Dancers attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays; Dancers seven years of age and older attend on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Students may enroll in any combination of tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, baby/pre-dance, creative I/II and a pre-ballet/pre-jazz combination class.  Dancers interested in auditioning for the Straub Dance Center Performing Arts Company must enroll in summer dance lessons.

  • Spirit Week

One week, during summer dance, the Center hosts "Spirit Week!"  Every year, our seniors create three new themes and the entire summer student population is encouraged to dress the part.  In 2016, dancers dressed as zoo animals for "Zoosday", in "Wild West" attire on Wednesday and in jerseys for their favorite sports teams on Thursday.  Pictured are some of our colorful summer dancers celebrating "Spirit Week" and showing their team spirit.

  • Westerville Parades

We love America and Christmas and we know you do, too!  That's why Straub Dance Center participates in the Fourth of July Parade every summer and the Westerville Christmas Parade every December.  Dancers ages eight and up are welcome to dance with us down State Street (younger dancers are welcome to ride bikes, ride in wagons or walk!).  Some of our senior dancers perform a high-kicking routine on a festive float.  More than 80 Straub Dancers celebrate by participating in the parade, and we hope, in the future, your dancer will, too!

  • National Convention

The Straub Performing Arts Company (PAC) travels, each summer, to a national convention.  In 2016, more than 100 Straub families traveled to family-friendly, Nashville, Tennessee to compete with Dance Masters of America.  Dancers, such as the pictured Straub ballerina, spent the week dancing, vacationing with family and making memories with friends.  Straub Dance Center had eight numbers earn a spot in the Grand National Championships and the Senior Jazz Ensemble was awarded top large line in the country.  In 2017, the PAC Team will travel to New Orleans to compete.  To learn about our outstanding competition results, please join the Straub Dance Center Facebook Community by clicking HERE.
