Mission

Straub Dance Center has a proud and distinguished heritage as one of Central Ohio’s and the nation’s oldest, largest and most reputable dance studios. We are dedicated to providing a fun, safe environment for students of all ages, and strive to build self-confidence in every student. Our students take classes for enjoyment, exercise, poise, confidence and team spirit.

While we have been recognized locally, state-wide and nationally for our Performing Arts Company, we strongly adhere to our core purpose and mission: to help every student realize their full potential and enhance their lives through dance. What we believe separates our dance studio from others is our love for teaching. We emphasize proper dance technique in a warm, friendly environment where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential and, most importantly, develop confidence and skills that will help them succeed in life.

We are members of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce and utilize our students and families to give back to the community through W.A.R.M., St. Paul’s Church, the Westerville community parades, the Westerville Music & Arts Festival and numerous other volunteer performance opportunities. The Straub family is dedicated to donating to and supporting animal rights organizations and is very active in the Westerville community. We are licensed by ASCAP, Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) and SESAC.

Facility

In 1999, Straub Dance Center opened one of the largest and most modern dance facilities in Ohio after decades of renting a small space elsewhere in Westerville. The Straub Dance Center facility is tailored specifically for dance instruction and is an indication of our commitment to provide the finest dance environment available. The facility encompasses 9,600 square feet with five spacious classrooms, large dressing rooms, multiple bathrooms, a viewing window for pre-school classes and true suspended, floating dance floors (the highest quality available).

The Dance Center has five studios within the center. The studios each have floating floors and heating and cooling and surround sound systems. The standalone facility allows for ample parking and easy access to major roads in Westerville.
